A typical domestic project for the practice. An early 20C Arts and Crafts house in grounds located within the Norfolk Broadland area. The brief, which we formulated and advised the client on, included adding two substantial extensions with internal layout modifications to enhance the accommodation adding character and presence in the original style.
The work included:
All necessary maintenance work associated with a substantial residence of this age.
Re-thatching, new joinery and an overhaul of services throughout as well as insulation and reworking of the extensive external spaces.
A Garden room with glazing on all sides overlooking the pool and the extensive gardens, a south facing day room and study, a utility room and entrance hall on the ground floor and two bedrooms with bathrooms on the first.
Sauna, steam room, spa, showers, gymnasium and a seating area together with changing rooms and toilets within the main building and an outdoor pool with enclosing wall and seating areas. A detached two car garage, three car port, potting shed and log store with accommodation above.
The project achieved planning permission at the first attempt.
